Hope & Healing: Family Cancer Support is a groundbreaking pilot initiative - designed and funded by Focus Foundation - to provide vital counseling services for families facing the emotional
challenges of a cancer diagnosis.
In collaboration with Brighton Therapy Centre, the referral program will deliver over 1,000 hours of specialised therapy across Sussex, creating a safe and supportive space for those in need.
Led by experienced professionals Kerry Evans and Michael O’Rourke, who bring over 20 years of expertise in cancer and palliative care, this initiative fills a critical gap in accessible, high-quality support.
Working alongside Sussex-based charities - WOLO, Children with Cancer Fund, Olive Tree Cancer Support Centre, Jane’s Wish and Momentum - Brighton Therapy Centre will accept referrals from each charity for individuals needing counselling. Participants will receive an initial consultation and 12 therapy sessions, with options for extensions where funding allows.
This initiative is set to be a lifeline for families navigating one of life’s toughest challenges - offering hope, healing, and much-needed relief.
