Community connections

Focus Foundation have approved a grant to fund fortnightly drop in befriending and information sessions for refugees from countries like Ukraine, Afghanistan and Syria.

These drop-in sessions run by Family Support Work, provide a nurturing, supportive and fun environment for displaced families to come together and develop support networks that allow them to be healthy, safe and more active in their new communities.

Refugee families are provided with practical support and advice on housing, education, benefits and accessing legal and immigration advice, as well as information about life and culture in the UK. These sessions are a lifeline for families escaping war and persecution and they allow families to integrate into their communities well.
