CWP's new state-of-the-art salon is a cut above the rest

Creativity Works Preston (CWP) is a centre that provides a diverse range of vocational learning opportunities. They include TV and radio production, music recording, art and design, as well as a fully operational hair and beauty salon.

Having been founded in 2014, CWP provides work-based learning opportunities for individuals in the Preston area. Their initiatives are carefully crafted to empower people by nurturing essential skills that lead to success in the workplace. CWP is especially attentive to those who prefer non-traditional learning approaches, moving away from conventional academia. Emphasising project-oriented education, they take pride in delivering personalised tuition tailored to meet the distinct needs of each individual.

We were introduced to CWP by John McNamara whose daughter attends the centre and who is an employee at Focus Group. John shared with us the positive impact that Creativity Works Preston had made on his daughter and invited us to support their cause.

With our help* students at CWP can now learn in a state-of-the-art salon, working with the latest equipment.

Steve Egan, CEO said: ‘We are delighted and extremely grateful that Focus Foundation have recognised our work and made this amazing contribution. We know that CWP students will be blown away, not literally, when they start using the new facility in September. Prior to receiving the support, the salon was looking very tired and badly in need of investment. I am sure the students will thrive in the new environment.’

We’re really look forward to seeing Steve and the Creativity Works team at the grand opening of the salon in September as they get ready for the new intake of students for 23/24.
