Focus Foundation has awarded £4,366 to TreeAction who organise tree planting and biodiversity projects for young people in Sussex. This grant will see children at Buckingham Park Primary, TreeAction and Focus Group volunteers planting 37 fruit and woodland trees on school grounds. The aim of this initiative is to connect the children with the tree planting project and allow them to experience and understand the importance of trees in their local environment.
This is an ongoing project with both the children and teachers taking responsibility for the maintenance of the trees, along with volunteers from Focus Group who will assist during the school holidays.
Focus Foundation is delighted to support charities that have the environment and community at the heart of what they do, and it feels great to be able to reduce emissions and provide a new habitat for wildlife.
