The Christmas Season is a wrap

Updated: Jul 18, 2023

It was a busy one for Focus Foundation. The organisers of the Brighton Christmas Festival, E3 Events Online, made us the beneficiary charity for their Christmas show, The Elf Express – and we were the charity partner for the opening night of Brighton Family Panto’s Aladdin held at The Brighton Centre.

The Elf Express ran throughout December, and charity collections were organised at every showing. It was a fantastic family show with a talented cast and proved very popular with over 4000 spectators. Jack Pallister said of the production, “I am so delighted that the Elf Express production received such recognition and was listed in the top 12 shows to see during the Christmas 2022 season by Visit England”.

This year the Brighton Panto was Aladdin, which boasted a star-studded cast who entertained everyone with their fabulous modern and witty adaptation of this great story. The show was a hit and a sell-out. Legendary Eastenders actress Anita Dobson, who played Abanazar commented, “All the collection money from the opening night of Aladdin was donated to Focus Foundation as the beneficiary charity.”

Fundraising totals for these events and the heats and semi-final of Sussex Superstars amounted to £5081.55, all of which will be used to support small grass-roots charities where even small grants can make a huge difference to people’s lives.
