Focus Foundation is delighted to announce its support for Time to Talk, Based in West Berkshire, Time to Talk is an independent charity providing confidential counselling for young people in need between the ages of 11 and 25.
The grant of £700 will provide the necessary funding to enable two young people from a disadvantaged background to attend 12 free counselling sessions. Ultimately, the funding will provide access to critical support for emotional difficulties and mental health concerns.
Young people are at risk when it comes to issues with mental health, simply because of the huge changes in their lives during this period. Changes in schooling, relationship difficulties at home and pressure to succeed, coupled with the enforced isolation and impact of the pandemic have seen an increase of 50% in referrals to Time to Talk.
Focus Foundation is committed to supporting mental health charities and initiatives, and Time to Talk met all the core criteria. Time to Talk serves its community by providing those who are disadvantaged with access to mental health care. This kind of project saves lives and teaches young people coping skills for all that lies ahead.
