Focus Group's first Scottish Golf Day raises an impressive £18k for the Foundation

On Thursday 27th June 2024 Focus Group’s inaugural Northern Golf Day teed off at The Carrick Golf Course, Cameron Club resulting in an impressive £18,710 raised in aid of Focus Foundation.

Over 50 players enjoyed a round of golf near the stunning shores of Loch Lomond. Among them was guest speaker Tony Brown MBE, CEO of Outfit Moray, who joined Chris Goodman, Co-founder and Director of Focus Group, for 18 holes. Brown commented, "The whole day was expertly organised and provided a brilliant opportunity to speak about Outfit Moray, including the programs generously funded by the Focus Foundation."

The event, a first for the North, showcased the Foundation’s philosophy of “Connecting Communities and Changing Lives.” It brought together members of the business community to collectively support the impactful work of the Focus Foundation.

During post-round refreshments guest speaker Tony Brown highlighted how vital the grant from Focus Foundation was in supporting his outdoor activity centre, which provides essential services for underprivileged children. Tommy McGrory, Founder of Loud N Proud, shared how the Foundation’s funding was instrumental in purchasing essential equipment for his School of Rock, offering opportunities to aspiring musicians who otherwise wouldn't have access to instruments and recording equipment. Maureen Cummings, Founder and Director of OKFP Hub and Chatty Cafe, gave a touching summary of the critical services her hub offers to the local community and how a grant from Focus Foundation has been pivotal in sustaining their operations.

Dan Ellis, Regional Sales Director for Focus Group North commented "I am incredibly proud to have hosted our inaugural Focus Group Golf Day in Scotland. Welcoming our customers and suppliers for a challenging round of 18 holes to raise vital funds for Focus Foundation made for an unforgettable day. With the generous support of our community, we are making a significant impact to local charities. We eagerly look forward to repeating this year's success in 2025."
